How we evaluate, rate, and recommend AI tools — and why you can trust our reviews.
Hands-On Testing
Every tool on AIPick is tested by our team using real workflows. We don't rely on press releases or marketing materials. We sign up, use the product for its intended purpose, and evaluate based on actual results.
For AI writing tools, we generate real content and compare quality. For SEO tools, we run actual audits. For video tools, we create real videos. This hands-on approach is non-negotiable.
Rating Criteria
Each tool is scored on a 1-5 scale across five equally weighted criteria:
Output Quality
Does the tool produce results that meet professional standards? We compare output against manual work and competitors.
Feature Depth
How comprehensive is the feature set? Templates, integrations, collaboration tools, API access, and customization options.
Pricing Value
What do you get per dollar? We evaluate all pricing tiers, free plans, and compare cost against similar tools.
Ease of Use
How quickly can a new user get value? We assess onboarding, UI design, documentation, and learning curve.
Reliability & Support
Does the tool work consistently? We test uptime, response times, and evaluate customer support quality and documentation.
Pricing Verification
All pricing data is verified directly from each tool's website at the time of review. We note the verification date and update pricing when changes are detected. If you find outdated pricing, let us know and we'll correct it within 24 hours.
Editorial Independence
Our ratings and rankings are never influenced by affiliate relationships. We review tools regardless of whether they offer an affiliate program. Several top-rated tools on our site (Midjourney, Ahrefs, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) have no affiliate program at all.
If a tool has an affiliate program, we disclose it clearly. If a tool is bad, we say so — even if it pays high commissions. Our credibility depends on honest, unbiased reviews.
Content Freshness
AI tools evolve rapidly. We re-evaluate tools and update reviews at least every 90 days, or sooner when significant changes occur (new features, pricing changes, major updates). Every review displays a "Last updated" date so you know how current the information is.
